Little Luke's Ladies' Lunch

Today Paloma got to meet her second cousin Luke, who is 4 and a half months old. Sweet Pea and I made our first solo trek to Grandma and Grandpa Goodsell's house in Tucson. Luke, his mommy (my cousin Kelly), and Great Grandma Johnson joined us there for the day. Mom made a lovely lunch of tamales, fruit, veggies, and dip, and we spent the day enjoying the little ones. Here are a few of the MANY cute pictures we took.

Sweet Bathing Beauty

Paloma went swimming today! Well, not really. The water was a bit too cold, so Grandpa Roberts just held her by the pool side. Did I mention that Grandpa Roberts is visiting her this week from California? (Note: Hat #7 was given to her by Natalia's mommy, Jacque.)

We decided to let Sweet Pea take a dip in a bucket of warm water instead, so she could at least use her cute little swimming suit once before it's too small. (Note: Swimmer Daddy purchased this suit for her.)

Birthday Dinner

My brother is in town again for work, and since yesterday was his 26th birthday, my folks drove up from Tucson so we could all meet for a little celebration. We met in Chandler at the Cracker Barrel for some good eats and a nice visit. It was so great to see my brother again. Happy Birthday Andy! Oh, and speaking of birthdays ... Paloma is 7 weeks old today! Here's a cute picture of Grandma and Grandpa Goodsell with the Sweet Pea.

Princess Pea and her Lovely Hats

Auntie Gayl and Grandma Chrissy had a blast this weekend playing dress-up with Paloma. I'm not sure how much the Sweet Pea enjoyed it, but she was very cooperative indeed. These are a few of the adorable hats given to Paloma by various thoughtful and generous people.

Hat #1: Handmade especially for Paloma by her talented second cousin Carly

Hat #2: Purchased by Grandma Guerin at Harvy's Antiques, in Prescott

Hat #3: Found in a box of cute clothes bought by Grandma Goodsell on E-Bay

Hat #4: Crafted by Catalina, a thoughtful and generous student of mine

Hat #5: Given by Great Grandma Kitty

Hat #6: Purchased by her daddy at Baby Gap (Note: this is the hat she wore home from the hospital, and it's way too small now!)

Family Fun

Sweet Pea had the joy of spending the weekend in Prescott with her great grandma Kitty and her great aunt Gayl, who flew in from Chicago to meet her. The three of them loved every minute together. Here we are the night they arrived.

And here's Kitty admiring her great granddaughter.

More Friends

Our best friends Steve and Carol were in town this weekend and stopped by for lunch on Sunday. They recently moved to Flagstaff to attend NAU, and it hasn't been the same since they left. We miss you Steve and Carol!

Friends

Last night we had dinner with our friends, Cristina and Esteban, whom we met in our childbirth preparation class. Their daughter, Marissa, is just 3 weeks older than Paloma. Here's a picture of Paloma and her new best friend.

Sleepy Head

Last night Paloma slept for nearly 7 hours! And SO DID I! For the past several days I've been optimistically setting my alarm clock for 5:00 am (rather than 3:00), and this morning I awoke to its sweet sound. Ah, I never imagined I could love the sound of my alarm clock. Here is the sleepy head sneaking a snooze during her "play time" yesterday.

Birthday Girl

Paloma is one month old today. Happy birthday Sweet Pea! We love you to pieces.

Bed Head

We have decided that Paloma has her daddy's mouth, chin, and definitely his hair.
