Happy Halloween!

The Halloween festivities began on Saturday night with our neighobor's Annual Pumpkin Carving Party. Notice the very artistic pumpkin between us, which Trent carved in less than 5 minutes!

Grandma and Grandpa Goodsell came up to spend Halloween day with Sweet Pea. I made yummy lentil soup for lunch. Did you know that lentils are part of the legume family? I bet you did. (Sorry Dad.)

Sweet Pea dressed up in her lady bug costume to greet the trick-or-treaters.

AJ tried to scare them in his scary spider bonnet. BOO!

Daddy's Girl

Here's a picture of beautiful Sweet Pea and her handsome father taken at Art Walk. Paloma really enjoys her Thursday nights at the G2. If you look closely, you will notice that she actually has on a pair of BLACK velvet pants. These pants received high approval ratings from Daddy and the gallery crew.

A Note from Sweet Pea

Hello Everyone!

Can you believe I'm already 12 weeks old today? The time has really flown! I'm getting so big - I must be almost 15 pounds now.

Here's what I've been up to lately:

About 2 weeks ago I started sleeping through the night. I do it every night now and it feels great! I think I'll keep it up. Sometimes I fuss a little bit around 5:00 am, but since I know how to suck on my hand, I do that for a while and it helps me fall back asleep. I usually wake up around 7:00 or 7:30. Mommy and Daddy seem to be pretty happy about that. I take a few long naps each day too, for about 2 hours. It's very important that I get my beauty rest because, as my mommy and daddy and grandmas tell me, I'm a very beautiful girl!

I've started to make lots of silly sounds, more than just the toots and burps that I made when I was younger. I like to say "aaaaahhhh," and "ahgaaaaa." Sometimes I even say "ooooo." I also make some very big smiles every quite often now - especially for my mommy.

Speaking of Mommy... She and I started going to a "Mommy and Me" yoga class on Thursdays with my friend Noah and his mommy. It's very fun because I get to dance and sing with other mommies and babies. And this week Mommy and I went to a "Strollercize" class at the YMCA. This was also very entertaining.

Here is a recent picture of me in one of my favorite hats. It has apples on it, and even a dress to match. I like to get dressed up whenever I go to visit Grandma and Grandpa Guerin at their office. I started going there on Mondays for a few hours, so Mommy and Daddy could run errands and go out to lunch. I'm usually a VERY good girl at the office too.

Well, I better go. I'm a busy little girl, as you can tell.

Love,
Paloma

Rub a dub dubbie

Paloma used to like her bath a lot. But now that she has grown into her infant tub and no longer has to sit in the bath hammock, she absolutely LOVES her bath. She especially loves her new friend, Rubber Duckie.

See...

More babies!

Today we drove down to Tucson for my friend Michelle's baby shower. My mom watched Paloma, and Trent spend the afternoon with an old friend. Afterwards, we stopped by Michelle's house so we could see the nursery and she could see Sweet Pea. Here's a picture of us with Lisa, a good friend from college who came to town for the event. What a fun day it was!

(Note: Baby R is due to arrive early next year. Paloma can't wait to meet him!)

*Toot* *Burp* *Grin*

My friend Emily came over today, and Sweet Pea proudly shared her best toots, burps, and grins. Here's a picture of Paloma trying to give Emily a hickey on her arm.

Paloma says, "It was nice to finally meet you Emily! *Toot* *Burp* *Grin*"

Happy Birthday Grandpa Guerin

Today is Grandpa Guerin's 57th birthday so we went to the office to give him his gifts. Here he is opening his gift from Paloma.

And here is Sweet Pea watching closely as Grandpa opens the picture she gave him (an adorable picture of herself, of course).

Sweet Baby Jogger

The weather has finally started to cool off and Paloma is just getting to the point where she is able to support her head - perfect timing for a jogging stroller. Trent purchased the B.O.B. jogger on Saturday, and we took it out for a spin a couple of times this weekend. Paloma really seemed to enjoy the ride, and AJ was absolutely thrilled to accompany us. It's quite liberating just to know that the hottest months are behind us, and soon I will be able to exercise outside with Paloma anytime of the day. Here's Sweet Pea in her fancy new wheels.

Play Date

Today Paloma and I meet my friend Kristen and her little boy Noah at the mall for a play date. Kristen and I had a nice lunch while the babies actually slept in their strollers. Then we strolled around the mall checking out all the cute baby stores.

Here are Kristen and her sweet little Noah (3 months).

Noah and Sweet Pea

Kristen even got Paloma to smile for the camera. This is a precious first!

Gallery Girl

Sweet Pea attended her first gallery opening last night at the G2. Here she is in her best dress.

Quote from Daddy regarding the dress: "That's like an Easter dress. Doesn't she have something more... black?" (Note: It is supposed to be her Easter dress, but it already fits her!!!)

And here we are at the G2.

Though she looked absolutely precious, Paloma was mostly fussy at the opening. She had FOUR SHOTS earlier in the day. She did, however, redeem herself by sleeping through the night last night. Thank you Sweet Pea!

Chicago!

Sweet Pea took her first BIG trip last week. We all flew to Chicago for a Schwantner family reunion. We had a wonderful time, and Paloma LOVED meeting all of her relatives. Here are some of the highlights, but you can see all the pictures from our trip at Ofoto.com.

At the airport

On the plane (Paloma slept through the entire flight!)

Paloma LOVED all the attention she got from cousin Carly!

CRAZY Daddy went wakeboarding with his CRAZY cousin Adam in 65 degree water!

Later that night we warmed up by the fire.

Guerin Family:

Though she couldn't ride the rides or drink the beer, Paloma did enjoy the Crystal Lake October Fest:

Paloma had a MAJOR blowout on the return flight, and Mommy forgot to pack a change of clothing in her diaper bag. Here she is at the airport wearing nothing but her blankie.

Going home (naked!) Good thing it was still 100 degrees here!
