Grammatime!

My folks came up yesterday to spend the day with us and to spoil Sweet Pea. And since today is Grandma Guerin's birthday, Trent's parents came over this evening for dinner and some Sweet Pea.

Happy Birthday to you, Grandma Guerin! Love, Paloma.

Who do you think she looks like?

Especially for Cousin Carly

One of Sweet Pea's biggest fans recently expressed to Grandma that Mommy G has been slacking on the blog. Sorry Carly! I know you must miss these chunky little legs!

Team Noah

On February 19th Paloma and I will be participating in the American Heart Association's Heart Walk, in honor of Paloma's friend Noah, who was born with severe congenital heart disease. 50% of our funds raised will be directed to the AHA Legacy of Life Endowment which supports congenital heart disease research. This research and funding helped save Noah's life. Please click here to donate to Team Noah.

Thank you!

A peek at the tootypegs

If you look really closely, you can see the two white dots that are Sweet Pea's new tootypegs (click photo to enlarge). I LOVE this picture, but I'm so mad at my camera for making Paloma's beautiful blue eyes look red all the time.

I'm such a big girl!

Just in case you haven't been paying attention, I'm getting soooooooooo BIG! Most of my clothes are size 12+ months now. I will go see the doc next week for my 6 month appointment, so I'll be sure to let you know how much I weigh. Does anyone want to take a wild guess?

Girls day out

Daddy and Grandpa Guerin took a quick trip to San Francisco this weekend for an art fair, so Grandma, Sweet Pea, and I had a girls day out on the town. We went to the zoo and out to lunch. It was nice and sunny at the zoo - a perfect excuse for Grandma to buy Paloma this cute little hat for her collection.

Sweet Pea seemed to enjoy her second trip to the zoo a bit more than the first. And though she's still not quite old enough to really appreciate the animals, she did get an impressive close-up of a baboon.

Two Tootypegs!

This morning I discovered another little tootypeg that just popped out right next to the first. Sweet Pea is chewing on everything she can get her gums on.

I went back to work FULL-TIME this week. It was bitter sweet. I really love my job, but I'm sure it's going to be difficult to be away from Paloma for extended periods of time. At least we are fortunate to have really good childcare arrangements: Trent has Daddy Duty on Mondays; Grandma and Grandpa Guerin take care of Sweet Pea on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and we have a wonderful nanny, Silvia, that comes Tuesdays and Fridays. I asked Silvia to take pictures of Paloma anytime she did something cute (which is essentially every minute she is awake, and much of when she sleeps). She took both of these.

Tootypeg!

I'm chewing on my rubber duckie and everything else I can get my hands on because guess what... I'm teething! Grandpa Guerin discovered one of my tootypegs that just popped through my gums on the bottom left. I'll try to get a picture of that on here soon, so stay tuned.

It's still Christmas?!

Today we went to my parents house for a late Goodsell Christmas celebration. Paloma got to meet some of her step aunts and uncles and cousins. She got a lot of love and many more Christmas gifts. I took this picture of Sweet Pea and Grandma, and then the battery on my camera died just as everyone arrived.

A surprise package arrived in the mail today from my friend Jenifer, in Colorado. She knit Paloma this BEAUTIFUL hat and sweater that looks absolutely adorable on her.

Jenifer, if you read this, you are SOOOO TALENTED and THOUGHTFUL. Thank you so very much! We love the adorable dress too.

Remembering Kitty

We took another trip to Chicago this week to remember and celebrate the life of Kitty Schwantner, my Nana, who passed away on Dec. 28th. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who lived for her family. We are so happy that Paloma got to spend time with her while she was still with us. And even though she is in a better place now, we will always dearly miss her. We love you forever, Nana.

Here are some of the pictures we took of our family this week in Chicago.
