Girlfriends

Paloma made a new friend today, and I reconnected with an old friend. Kim came up from Tucson with our moms (who are also old friends) and her daughter, Alexandria, who is almost exactly Paloma's age. I know, it's confusing. But Sweet Pea had fun sharing her favorite toys, and the 6 of us girls had a really nice day together.

Celebrating Sweet Pea

Today was a very exciting and eventful day for Paloma Lyn. Daddy took the day off work so we could spend her first birthday together. Here are some of the fun things we did to celebrate.

We got up early and had breakfast at Manny's, our new neighborhood deli. It was actually nice enough to sit outside.



Then we walked around the zoo, where Paloma saw some very large snakes,



and turtles,



and... Archie?!



Sweet Pea tried to cool off with some of Daddy's slurpie.






But that didn't work, so we took her to Tempe Beach Park for a splash.



Then, after a nice long nap and some shopping (of course!), she took a dip in the pool with Daddy,



and played some hide-and-seek in the kitchen cabinets.



Finally, she had a yummy birthday dinner at Tia Rosas, where they brought her some fried ice cream with strawberries on top. Yum!



Now she is fast asleep in her cozy crib. And to think, just one year ago as I type this entry I was pushing her into the world, FINALLY!

Paloma turns one!

Happy first birthday, Paloma Lyn! We never could have imagined how much love and joy you would bring to our lives.
