Sweet Pea and Mimi

Here comes Trouble!

In case I haven't mentioned it, Mimi is pretty much walking now. She took nine steps a couple weeks ago when my mom was visiting. We were all watching, which was so very exciting. Now she takes up to 10 at a time and alternates between crawling, cruising the furniture and walls, and walking. And she is totally fearless! Sweet Pea and I have nick-named her "Trouble". Watch this adorable video of her walking and waving (another one of her recent milestones).

Christmas is coming!

Some of our favorite Christmas traditions include...

Going to the Tempe Festival of Lights parade with Matt, Betsy, Owen and Nate. Paloma enjoyed an excellent view of the floats from Daddy's shoulders.

Going up to Prescott to visit Santa (but NOT sit on his lap, and ride the toys at the mall instead!). Here's last year's photo of the tradition.

(Mimi did sit on his lap this year - and screamed. We were kind of suprised, considering how outgoing she is. Paloma waved to Santa from a distance.)

Going to the Christmas parade and lighting of the square in Prescott. Do you remember this tradition? (Notice the hat Paloma is wearing Christmas 2005.)

And last, but certainly not least, building and decorating the gingerbread house. I bought the kit sometime ago, thinking we would work on it the day after Thanksgiving. Paloma absolutely couldn't wait to do it, so this lovely house has been sitting on her dresser since early November. She is thrilled when an occasional piece happens to fall off and she can eat it.

Mimi's first Thanksgiving

I think Mimi was very thankful for her giant plate of grown-up food (and her 4 big teeth that allowed her to eat it). Archie was also thankful for that giant plate of food, much of which didn't quite make it to Mimi's mouth.

Paloma was thankful for Daddy, Mimi, Mommy, and her Grandma's and Papa's (and her pie and ice cream!)

We are so thankful for our sweet girls,

and for the nice relaxing Thanksgiving day we spent eating, soaking in the jacuzzi, and eating some more. (Good thing we did the Turkey Trot that morning!)

All I want for Christmas...

Paloma: "Mommy, what do you want for Christmas?"
Me: "Oh, I don't know. I guess I want my girls to be good girls this year."
Paloma: "Santa doesn't have that!"
